Providence Health & Services General Maintenance Worker in Tarzana, California
Providence is calling a General Maintenance Worker (Full Time, Night Shift) to Providence Tarzana Medical Center in Tarzana, CA.

We are seeking a General Maintenance Worker who will be reporting to the engineer supervisor/manager, this position will be responsible for assisting in the performance of duties necessary to keep the physical structure and associated equipment of hospital in good repair.
In this position you will:
Promote patient, physician, customer and employee satisfaction by personal example, treating all contacts with respect
Support and participate in activities that foster customer service.
Communicate and follow the organizational chain of command for notification of patient care/service issues, when appropriate
Maintain required applicable licensure, certification and education
Attends and successfully complete general and department orientation, in-service programs and the annual key competencies and mandatory update requirements
Participate actively in department staff meetings
Demonstrate effective verbal and written communications
Communicate effectively in a clear, concise, understandable manner. Applicable for the populations: Adult and Geriatric
Perform urgent corrective, routine and requisitioned repairs of electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems as required
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and systems as required
Perform preventative maintenance duties to all physical structures of hospital and complies with all building safety codes. This is to include facility equipment and associated controls
Assist in replacing, installing, repairing and testing electrical circuits, equipment, appliances and lighting systems as required
Maintain routine records of all inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs performed on any equipment or system
Perform manual duties as requested (i.e. moving supplies or furniture, replacing light bulbs, removing trash or scrap material)
Read blueprints, interpret instructions and prepare specifications
Make daily rounds of all departments and perform repairs as needed. In addition, make daily rounds of facility and replace light bulbs as needed
Keep work areas orderly, clean and safe. Ensure proper care in the use of equipment and supplies
Demonstrate willingness & ability to float to areas within their scope of practice as necessary
Required qualifications for this position include:
- Current LA City Fire Card within 30 days of hire
