Providence Health & Services Mammography and MQSA Technician in Tarzana, California
Providence is calling a Mammography and MQSA Technician (Full time/Day shift) to Providence Tarzana Medical Center in Tarzana, CA.
We are seeking a Mammography and MQSA Technician who will perform mammography/radiographic examinations according to accepted treatment protocols, hospital policy and procedures. The position will also establish standards and comply with the American College of Radiology, Federal-MQSA, and State requirements. Demonstrate proficiency in delivering care to assigned age specific patient population (e.g., infants, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, pediatrics), and participate in related continuing education.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Follow Universal Protocol at all times to ensure correct patient, correct procedure, and correct side
Maintain established department policies, procedures, improving organization performance program, safety, and infection control standards
Responsible for establishing standards and complying with American College of Radiology, Federal-MQSA, and State requirements in mammography
Perform mammography/radiographic procedures. Obtain patient history, prepare patient for the exam, explain exam, and ensure patient cooperation during the study. (80 % of job responsibility for positions at PSJ and Tarzana)
Work with Imaging Manager Supervisor, Mammography and Breast Center Manager position to assure that diagnostic radiology and mammography are in complete compliance with Federal, State, and local requirements
Actively participate in performance improvement initiatives
Perform QA/QC procedures and documents accordingly
Demonstrate technical abilities in at least two modalities (PHC position) Demonstrate technical abilities in mammography, diagnostic x-ray, and bone densitometry (PSJ and Tarzana positions)
Provide appropriate, technical services as assigned or directed under the direct supervision of the Manager, WODC (PHC/Tarzana positions)/Manager, Breast Center (PSJ position)
Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, inservice meetings, and workshops
Attend meetings as required
Assure that WODC equipment (PHC/Tarzana positions)/Breast Center equipment (PSJ position) is properly maintained and arrange for service when needed
Assist Supervisor with training new employees in the use of the equipment
Responsible for tracking of patients with Bi-Rad findings of code 4 and code 5. – PSJ and Tarzana positions
Assist M.D. with breast biopsies, breast ultrasounds, and breast localizations. - PSJ and Tarzana positions
Required qualifications for this position include:
BLS for Healthcare Providers sponsored by the American Heart Association. NOTE: If employee/applicant has certification by the American Red Cross-CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, this will be accepted until expiration
5 years clinical radiology experience with neonates, children, adults, geriatrics in acute care
Good interpersonal/oral/written communication skills and business/organizational skills
Minimum one sub specialty (i.e., U/S, Radiography) desirable
Knowledge of JCAHO and Title 17
Knowledge of stereotactic biopsies, breast ultrasounds, breast localization
