Providence is calling a Mammography Technologist (Per diem/Variable shift) to Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center in Tarzana, CA.
We are seeking a Mammography Technologist who will perform mammographic imaging of the breast to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of breast diseases. Prepare and assist in breast in compliance to established policies and procedures.
In this position you will:
Promote patient, physician, customer and employee satisfaction by personal example, treating all contacts with respect
Support and participate in activities that foster customer service
Communicate and follow the organizational chain of command for notification of patient care/service issues, when appropriate
Maintain required applicable licensure, certification and education
Attend and successfully complete general and department orientation, in-service programs and the annual key competencies and mandatory update requirements
Participate actively in department staff meetings
Demonstrate effective verbal and written communications
Comply with hospital policies and procedures regarding acceptable:
Attendance, Timekeeping, Dress code, Professionalism
Use of Standard Precautions in all patient contact as applicable
The provision of a safe environment for patients, visitors and co-workers
Reporting and responding to facility emergencies such as fire, infant abduction, and disruption in utilities and hazardous materials spills
Report all suspected abuse or neglect
Demonstrate skill in the use of equipment including its capabilities, limitations and appropriate/special applications
Ensure that the rights of all patients are respected and maintained by allowing for privacy, cultural diversity and dignity in the provision of care
Demonstrate a positive professional image, perform responsibilities in a professional manner, demonstrates flexibility in the provision of patient care/service and utilize a collaborative approach with co-workers
Function as a team member, contributing to the smooth operations of the unit on a day to day basis, and for the patients/customer’s overall general welfare
Demonstrate willingness to perform tasks generally designated to be done by others, when the need arises
Demonstrate organizational skills including prioritization and time management
Identify problems, implement appropriate solutions and evaluate effectiveness
Utilize appropriate resources when indicated to resolve conflicts, solve problems and achieve goals
Identify and communicate opportunities to improve care or service
Establish yearly goals that will enhance personal job performance
Seek and utilize new approaches to problem solving, reaching goals and/or new programs
Ensure human and material resources of the organization are used responsibly and in accordance with hospital policy
Identify cost saving strategies appropriate to the department
Demonstrate knowledge of age specific care for the neonate through the geriatric population, including but not limited to identifying the need for additional safety measures, or activities that place patients at risk Applicable for the populations: Infant, Pediatric, Adult, and Geriatric
Obtain patient history, cooperation and consent. Explain procedures and address any patient concerns
Prepare and maintain room for daily procedures
Provide comfort and privacy for patient during and after examination
Perform diagnostic and screening mammograms in compliance with hospital policies and protocols
Select appropriate techniques that produces high quality diagnostic mammography images for radiologists to evaluate
Adjust positioning and techniques according to patient’s body habitus, including taking into consideration patients with implants and location of lesions
Document scars, moles, lumps, etc. on clinical information sheet
Demonstrate proper sterile techniques and infection control
Assist physicians in biopsies, etc.
Select and operate equipment as directed
Demonstrate ability to operate hospital systems
Demonstrate willingness & ability to float to areas within their scope of practice as necessary
Perform QA, QC procedures as directed by supervisor
Back-up contact to notify patients of recommended additional studies as directed by supervisor
Additional Responsibilities IF AND/OR WHEN the care giver is a team leader:
Perform Imaging procedures in compliance with department protocols
Perform quality assurance/quality control systems or programs assigned
Assist in staff scheduling
Resolve patient care issues and concerns
Address patient scheduling issues
Serve as a preceptor, mentor and support to coworkers and students
Perform daily workqueues
Report any accidents, complaints, or equipment malfunctions to Management
Attend Lead meeting
Demonstrate high integrity, accountability, and tactfulness
Must be respectful and equitable in dealings
Display superior work ethics and professionalism
Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Successfully completed a program in radiological technology
Two (2) or more years experience successfully performing 2D Mammography and 3D Tomosynthesis
ARRT, R registry
ARRT, M registry
CRT Radiological License
CRT Mammography License or obtain within 6 months of employment
Current LA City Fire Card within 30 days of hire
