Providence is calling a Manager of Spiritual Care (Full time/Day shift) to Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center in Tarzana, CA.

We are seeking a Manager of Spiritual Care who will provide managerial oversight and leadership to the Spiritual Care Department. Provide spiritual care and support to patients and employees. Provide leadership in integrating spiritual care into the care of the whole person. Demonstrate proficiency in delivering care to patients of differing cultures and backgrounds. Possess knowledge of, and reverence for, the traditions of the Roman Catholic Church and demonstrates ability to collaborate effectively with the Ecclesial structures of the Church. Clearly articulate the Mission of Providence Health and Services.
In this position you will:
Demonstrate Providence Health and Services core values of respect, justice, compassion, stewardship, and excellence to customers, employees, and visitors; and provide quality service in the performance of work assignments and duties
Select, orient and assign department chaplaincy staff. Assure delivery of Spiritual Care within the Standards for Spiritual Care of the Providence Health and Services. Evaluate performance, and initiate or make recommendations for personnel actions. Maintain effective communication with staff chaplains through staff meetings and other means of communication
Plan, organize, direct and schedule spiritual programs and services that meet the needs of patient/patient families, hospital employees, and medical staff
Welcome and host CPE residents and interns into the Spiritual Care Department. Assure the department provides for all its responsibilities as a CPE Ministry Site as defined in the CPE Student Handbook
Provide for specific needs of individual faiths by fostering an ecumenical approach to hospital ministry
Develop goals and objectives, and establishes and implements policies and procedures for quality improvement
Provide for the administration of sacraments, scheduling of religious/worship services and prayer services or arranges for visiting clergy to do so. Visit patients to provide spiritual care and support, and cooperates with health care team in assisting patients to make personal adjustments
Develop and recommend department operating budget and ensures that department operates within budget.
Consult with hospital staff regarding ministry. Collaborate with members of the health care team in identifying and resolving problems
Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program and safety standards
Participate on special projects as directed/requested, including representing the hospital at interfaith meetings, community events, etc. as requested
Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise
Participate in hospital/medical staff committee meetings as required. Attend and serve on professional/civic service organizations as hospital representative, and attends Leadership Forum meetings
Direct the preparation and maintenance of department reports. Prepare periodic reports for senior management, as required
Required qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in Divinity or equivalent.
4 Units of CPE completed at an ACPE or NACC Accredited Center or one equivalency unit will be accepted if so granted by APC, NACC or NAJC
Board Certification through the National Association of Catholic Chaplains, Association of Professional Chaplains, National Association of Jewish Chaplains, Association of Clinical Pastoral Educators, OR the Association of Pastoral Counselors
