Providence is calling a Performance Improvement Review Nurse (RN) (Full-Time/Day Shift) to Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center in Tarzana, CA.
We are seeking a Performance Improvement Review Nurse (RN) who will be responsible for assigned core measure diagnoses, registry abstraction, timely identification of cases, prospective case review, data collection, data input, initial analysis and interfacing with both hospital and medical staff to assure compliance with dataset parameters, and to follow the patient through the stay to patient discharge.
In this position you will:
Promote patient, physician, customer and employee satisfaction by personal example, treating all contacts with respect.
Support and participate in activities that foster customer service.
Communicate and follow the organizational chain of command for notification of patient care/service issues, when appropriate.
Maintain required applicable licensure, certification and education.
Attend and successfully completes general and department orientation, in-service programs and the annual key competencies and mandatory update requirements.
Participate actively in department staff meetings.
Demonstrate effective verbal and written communications.
Communicate effectively in a clear, concise, understandable manner. Applicable for the populations: Infant, Adult, and Geriatric.
Work with medical staff, medical records, nursing, and other ancillary departments to ensure the development and implementation of a coordinated quality management/performance improvement process.
Ability to facilitate action by effectively interfacing with many entities and be proactive in problem solving.
Under the direction of the Outcomes Manager coordinates and manages a large volume of information that includes the following: data collection, data entry, display of information, dissemination of information to appropriate entities/personnel, follow-up on information and maintenance accurate records and files.
Solicit input from appropriate personnel/individuals when formulating decisions. Once a decision is made and the plan has been accepted, it is put into action and observed to ensure that it is effective or if not effective, recommends a revised solution.
Review with peer and subordinates how decisions fit the organizations mission, vision, and values via the development and adherence to realistic, appropriate, and measurable goals, objectives, polices and procedures. Demonstrates, where possible, how this process will result in the group’s realization of its goals and objectives.
Prepare and present educational presentations to all levels of the organization as they relate to quality management, performance improvement, and notification forms and outcomes management.
Assure accuracy and reliability of data set and assures all data elements have a clear meaning and acceptable values.
Assure that the data are the most current available.
Identify inconsistencies such as missing data or illogical data values.
Provide complete analysis of data and presents data in an organized fashion with minimal supervisory instruction.
Demonstrate willingness & ability to float to areas within their scope of practice as necessary.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Sufficient for license.
Current California RN license.
Current LA City Fire Card within 30 days of hire.
Experience in Quality/Performance Improvement in an acute care setting within the last 5 years.
Strong clinical background.
Knowledge of JCAHO, data analysis, statistics and has computer skills.
