Providence is calling a per diem, day shift Personal Nutrition Attendant to Providence Tarzana Medical Center in Tarzana, CA.

We are seeking a Personal Nutrition Attendant who will be reporting to the Food Production Manager and perform diversified duties in kitchen, tray line, and room service following standard practices and complying with regulatory requirements.

In this position you will:

• Promote patient, physician, customer and employee satisfaction by personal example, treating all contacts with respect

• Support and participate in activities that foster customer service

• Communicate and follow the organizational chain of command for notification of patient care/service issues, when appropriate

• Maintain required applicable licensure, certification and education

• Attend and successfully complete general and department orientation, in-service programs and the annual key competencies and mandatory update requirements

• Participate actively in department staff meetings

• Demonstrate effective verbal and written communications

• Communicate effectively in a clear, concise, understandable manner. Applicable for the populations: Pediatric, Adult, and Geriatric

• Provide individualized care as required, taking into consideration specific needs of the adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients

• Examine diet records received and record information in diet office records

• Consult with patient, dietitian, and dietary personnel as needed concerning patient diets

• Compile dietetic information for use by kitchen personnel in food preparation

• Prepare individual diet slips for meal trays and tally portions and kinds of food for each type of diet; processes new diets and changes

• Record percentage of food consumed by patients on calorie counts

• Stock floor refrigerators in patient care areas according to established stocking guidelines

• Interact with patients on a continuous basis ensuring patient satisfaction with food quality/appearance, taste, and temperature

• Checks trays on tray line for accuracy, temperature, and appearance.

• Deliver trays to the patient floors after the diet clerk or diet technician has checked the trays for accuracy according to the patient diet order

• Participates on tray line as needed

• Label, date, and cover all food items. Rotate foods using first-in first-out rule

• Use time wisely during assigned shift through careful coordination of daily tasks; reduce interruptions in order to complete priority tasks

• Participate in flexing work schedules to ensure effective and efficient use of staff while maintaining quality of work

• Maintain department records, reports, and files as required

• Demonstrate willingness & ability to float to areas within their scope of practice as necessary

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include :

• Education to meet certification, license or registration equipment

• Current LA City Fire Card within 30 days of hire

• Excellent Customer Service Skills

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

• One year of institutional experience
