Providence Health & Services Pharmacy Technician Outpatient in Tarzana, California
Providence is calling a Pharmacy Technician Outpatient (Full Time/Day Shift) to Providence Tarzana Medical Center, Tarzana, CA.
We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician Outpatient who will be reporting to the Outpatient Pharmacy Supervisor and under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist. Assists pharmacists in daily tasks associated with the outpatient clinic pharmacy and performs other related duties as assigned. Provides excellent patient care customer service.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Promote patient, physician, customer and employee satisfaction by personal example, treating all contacts with respect
Support and participate in activities that foster customer service
Communicate and follow the organizational chain of command for notification of patient care/service issues, when appropriate
Daily pharmacy tasks evolutionary, not stagnant
Maintain required applicable licensure, certification and education
Attend and successfully completes general and department orientation, in-service programs and the annual key competencies and mandatory update requirements
Participate actively in department staff meetings
Demonstrate effective verbal and written communications
Demonstrate knowledge of age specific care, including but not limited to, identifying the need for additional safety measures, or activities that place patients at risk including knowledge of age appropriate dosage ranges and special equipment Communicate effectively in a clear, concise, understandable manner. Applicable for the populations: Pediatric, Adult, and Geriatric
Perform computer order entry, entering drugs into the computer from physician orders
Prepare medication counting and inventory
Provide drug delivery
Maintain pharmacy inventory, purchasing, proper drug storage of all medication
Assist in inventory control and management
Answer phones, performs clerical duties
Assist in the training/education of others
Required qualifications for this position include:
Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement
Current California Registered Technician’s license
Current LA City Fire Card within 30 days of hire
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Minimum of one (1) year Pharmacy Tech experience
