Providence Health & Services Vascular Technician in Tarzana, California
Providence is calling a Vascular Technician (Per Diem/Day Shift) to Providence Tarzana Medical Center in Tarzana, CA.
We are seeking a Vascular Technician who will report to the Department Director or designee, this position is responsible to perform a variety of non-invasive cardio and vascular services: EKG, Treadmills, Venous, Arterial and Graft Imaging, Vein Mapping, Carotid Studies.
In this position you will:
Promote patient, physician, customer and employee satisfaction by personal example, treating all contacts with respect
Support and participates in activities that foster customer service
Communicate and follow the organizational chain of command for notification of patient care/service issues, when appropriate
Maintain required applicable licensure, certification and education
Attend and successfully completes general and department orientation, in-service programs and the annual key competencies and mandatory update requirements
Participate actively in department staff meetings
Demonstrate effective verbal and written communications
Communicate effectively in a clear, concise, understandable manner. Applicable for the populations: Adult and Geriatric
Prepare patient for all procedures and test by attaching proper equipment
Sets-up and operate equipment to monitor and record patient cardiac activities and documents all patient related data
Monitor patient and data, and inform physicians of any abnormalities
Calculate data obtained from testing. Enters data on patient chart
Work with various dials and manipulates transducer to obtain clearest possible images
Perform treadmill stress test. Follows standard protocol. Assist physicians during resting, exercise and recovery phases
Perform all routine and stat vascular studies
Prepare all vascular studies for interpretation and distribution
Perform EKG’s as time allows
Prepare EKG’s and Echocardiograms for interpretation and distribution as time allows
Demonstrate willingness & ability to float to areas within their scope of practice as necessary
Required qualifications for this position include:
One year experience as a peripheral vascular technician
Proficiency in diagnostic vascular studies
Current Basic Life Support ( BLS ) certification for Healthcare Providers sponsored by the American Heart Association
Current LA City Fire Card within 30 days of hire
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Graduate of Vascular training school
